SUN-to-LIQUID II was present at the EASN International Conference in Madrid on the 17th October 2025.

Moritz-Alexander Thiel from BHL presented the work on Environmental and Economic Perspectives of Sustainable Aviation Fuel from Sunlight and Air.

The SUN-to-LIQUID II technology is seen as a radical approach to the transition to 100% renewable energy for climate-friendly aviation. Moritz-Alexander Thiel presented a holistic view of the solar-thermochemical pathway to renewable fuel. As an alternative to Power-to-Liquid innovations it adds technology diversity and reduces supply chain risks of critical materials and technologies.
